A few tips...

When selecting you photos for you slide show keep in mind when you plan on playing it. If the video is to be played for an audience that isn’t doesn't know much about the photo's you might need to describe unique memories the photos possess.

A lot of people already have scrapbooks that they will use to choose photos from. Scrap books usually contained photos that are cut to make the page look good. Remember that cut edges or certain shaped photo’s borders don’t always look good on the slideshow. We can work with them but it usually requires a black or plain background that you may notice the edge. So when you have a choice use photo’s that won’t show the border.

Every photo should elicit an emotional response. Whether it’s the groom’s mullet in grade 8, or grandma who’s no longer with us, or the bride during her bachelorette party, they should each make us laugh or tear up. They all don’t have to be gut-busting or heart-wrenching, but they shouldn’t leave you cold. The saying is a picture is worth a thousand words but, the right photo’s making your video scrapbook the most memorable.

Keep in mind that some guests will fail to recognize most people in most of the photos.

Avoid complicated narrative structures. For example, a chronological order seems to work fine.  Don’t use too much text. Dates and places are fine, but eschew to many silly captions.

An idea of when to play your digital slideshow.

If your nervous about 200 people watching you dance the first dance, run the show during the dance, as a sort of a distraction.
